The issue seems to be with the outgoing mail server/port settings. If the following steps fail, please remove all outgoing servers(from edit server list section), restart mail, and add the server back in using the settings below. I never touched anything on the server which belongs to postfix and dovecot. But for several days I can't connect to my mailbox anymore. /var/log/mail cannot connect to IMAP server | Thunderbird Support Forum I just uninstalled both and reinstalled TB and it was able to add the e-mail account and connect to the server. Wonderful. I will still reduce the number of reduced cached connections and make an attempt at reinstalling Covenant Eyes, but right now I am just thankful that the e-mail is working. Again, thanks.
